This picture is taken from one of the best views in all of Florence, which is a corner window in the Uffizi Museum, in the Piazza della Signoria. The Medici family, the ruling body of Florence at the time, designed the Uffizi Museum in such a way that a corridor connected the halls of power with the museum itself. ("Ufizzi"means offices). This corner window was an intentional creation of a view of their city.
